My First Day Living in Janesville, WI

Hey All!

Today was my first official full day living in Janesville!  It was a crazy trip!  Mom and I headed down late last night after 4PM mass.  We then pulled an all nighter to decorate the apartment! Mom hung up all of my shelving and I put everything in the place where I wanted it to be. Not everything is completed, but here is a glance at my kitchen!

Around 4, we decided to take a trip to Walmart, where we got more goodies for the place.  I never knew how much stuff you need when you move out of your parents house! Everybody insisted it was a lot of stuff...but now I learned my lesson!

Afterwards, we took a trip to St. Pat's Church to attend mass.  All I am going to say is this...St. Pat's is as opposite as Resurrection Catholic Parish can possibly be.  The end.

Then Mom and I went to meet up with Angie and worked on my classroom!  Four hours later...this is what it looks like! I just need to put up the titles and details to my bulletin boards and I can safely say it is good to go for now!

Here is where my desk is located.  Behind you I am going to add two magnetic bulletin boards: one for word family of the week and one for number of the day.

To the left is my writing/assessment center, while to the right is my math/puzzle center!

I still have to work on my Spanish classroom, the 3k room and lots of other stuff...but Angie assures me it will all work out!

After spending time with mom, dad and Chad, they finally left.  Naturally, I was emotional about the experience.  I continue looking forward to having a great time here...but leaving my life in Green Bay behind is going to be a little dramatic. My dad gave me a hug and told me to "lock the door," mom is terrified I will need her help, but Chad was the most upset of them all.  He was extremely worried about my well-being and said I could always talk to him.  I thought it was very sweet.

Now, I am sitting at McDonalds, trying to figure out what to cook during the week...and what crazy adventures are coming up ahead.  I loved my day here and I look forward to having more!

A [Closer] Look at My New Apartment!

Hey Bloggers,

Last Sunday, mom, dad, Chad, David and I moved the rest of my life down to Janesville, WI!  It was a pretty exciting day! We had an entire Uhaul full of the rest of my goodies.  Mom, David and I brought up the small boxes...then David and Chad took care of the bigger things!

Here is what it looks like right now...kind of a hot mess, but once I get down there, I will have the chance to spice it up the way I'd like it to look!

Here's a promo at what my bedroom is looking like... I will be putting all of those clothes away, so don't worry about that!

My lonely bed...it needs it's ugly black sheets.  No worries bed...I'm coming!

My craft room... it looks like a hot mess.  A lot of these things are going to school, but because I didn't have keys at that point, I couldn't put them there.  I need to get this cleaned out asap because a very large cubic shelf will be in this room!

My living room! Again, it looks like a crazy mess, but that's okay!  I'm having a "Brown" thing going on in the living room and really could use some ideas to bring some more color in here! I'm planning on doing some paintings based on the colors of the rug I have, but any idea of inspiration would be helpful as well!

Thanks to my brother and David Cole for yanking that thing up the stairs, down the hall and into the living room!  It was heavy and it barely fit...but we made it work.  Now I just gotta figure out where the darn thing goes!

You can also see my brand new coffee table, end tables, and rug...all from IKEA! (You gotta love IKEA!)

The bathroom... mom, Chad and I put up the shelf...now to put all those towels away.

And the kitchen! People were obsessed with giving me their dishes! I had about 3 different sets of dishes by the end of it all.  I hate to say it...I donated them all away.  I am strange and wanted to get my own fresh clean dishes.  Therefore, I bought some egg plant colored dishes at IKEA.

Here is another view of my kitchen... messy, but in progress!  I still have shelving I need to put up as well as some art that Liz is going to be making me! My brother and mom put together my wine rack.  You can see that on the left side of the photo below:)

Here is my pantry!

And my current wine stash... soon to be in the wine rack from IKEA.

That's all for now...in a few days, I will give you the updated version of my apartment! It will be much cleaner and organized (hopefully!)

So...What Will My First [Professional] Classroom Looks Like [for Now]

Hey Everybody!

Last week, Vanessa and I took a trip down to Janesville.  On this trip, I got to spend time in my Spanish and Kindergarten classrooms, as well as many other places I will be spending my time in The Early Learning Center.   I plan on keeping lots of the things that are on the walls...but I also plan on putting my own spin on a few things as well!

This is an overview of the room, Angie was too kind and moved things to the side for me! She also left some things up so I didn't have to start from scratch!

Here is another view of the classroom... if you look really closely, there is a red cart in the center of this picture.  Right next to the cart is the door to the 4K room.  The 4k and 5k work together for sometimes so it makes perfect sense to have everything blend together.

The bulletin board that is next to the large black board is the Social Studies board... which has a large picture of a bee on it.  Apparently, the state bug is the bee....yikes!

Here is a view where my desk is [currently] located... I'm not sure if it will stay there or not.   I'm guessing...no.  (I don't want to be facing the window!)

In this picture, I am standing in the 4k room...looking into the kindergarten room...I think...

Here is one more view of my desk...this is the biggest desk that I have ever had...I am so excited about it! It is very comfy.  I loved sitting in it.  Vanessa had to drag me out so I could take her home!  On top of the desk is a help mat.  The mat has numbers, shapes and other little things to help the kids out during school.  It also has their name on them.  I can set out the mats and have them work wherever I want them to! [Sweet!]

This is the future 3k room...it is still being built! I believe most of it will be done very soon...because school is starting very soon!

That's all for now!!! More to come!

Cooking With Leah and Kristina: The Thai Food Edition!

Hello Everybody!

It's been a while, but I wanted to share you my adventures with my most recent cooking experiences!

Leah, Kristina and I made Thai food! Yum!!  First we beat up the tomatoes!

And did some mixing...

Chopped up garlic...

Kristina cut up the chicken...

After chopping up the chicken, it was ready to be cooked!

We mixed up the onions...

Into the sauced pan...

We added in the chicken together with the sauce and let it cook for a bit

We were worried about there not being enough sauce...after some time we saw more and more curry sauce added into the curry!

We let the curry cook for about 20 minutes.  We didn't have a cover, so Leah found her wok and put it on top instead...

After about a 20 minute wait...the curry was ready to eat!

It was so good! However, I wanted something cool to eat while I was enjoying the curry, so I added pineapple to it!

It was so good! Totally worth the hard work! You can try the recipe by checking out this link: Tikka Masala Recipe

Have a great day!
